Inspecting for buyers means looking at hundreds of houses with an eye trained to find the thing that was done cheaply. That perspective does not switch off when you cross over to doing the work.

The least glamorous line on the list and probably the most useful. Warranty work is spending your days on somebody else's callbacks: the nail pops, the settled cracks, the doors that stopped latching in the first winter. Nothing teaches which details fail faster than being the person who has to go back and fix them.

Most handyman companies estimate how long a job will take and then bill against that estimate, which means the number you were told and the number you pay are two different numbers. Cory prices each service as one figure, so the amount you approve is the amount on the invoice.
