The quiet upgrade

A sitting wall gives a patio an edge instead of a boundary, seats half a dozen people without furniture, and takes an Indiana winter without being put away in October. It is the single best value addition to most patios.

Lighting in the cap

Low voltage lighting set under the cap is what makes a patio usable after dark and turns it into something you look at from inside the house. It gets planned before the wall is laid, not after.

Height, depth and caps

A sitting wall that is not comfortable to sit on is a retaining wall with ambitions. Seat height and cap depth are the two dimensions that decide whether people actually use it, and they get set for seating rather than for looks.

Cap choice does most of the visual work. A cut stone cap and a standard block cap on the same wall read as two different budgets, and the difference in cost is smaller than the difference in result.

How sitting walls gets quoted

Sitting Walls is measured on site. Grade, access, existing conditions and the things behind the walls all change the number, and none of them are visible in a photograph. Cory walks the space, works through the design decisions with you, takes the dimensions and sends a detailed written bid rather than a range.

Follow up runs on a schedule so nothing sits: twenty-four hours, seventy-two hours, then one week. A signature and a deposit put the work on the calendar. If something is found once a wall or the ground is open, it is priced and agreed before it is built rather than appearing at the end.

Sitting Walls is available across the twelve communities OnCall serves: Fishers and Geist, Noblesville, the Morse Reservoir area and Cicero, Westfield, Carmel, Zionsville, McCordsville, Brownsburg, Greenwood and Indianapolis itself. The radius is set by drive time rather than by a county line, so if your town is not on that list it is worth asking rather than assuming.

OnCall runs four categories and turns down anything outside them. No car chargers, no full kitchen remodels, no pools. That is a deliberate decision about margin and risk, and it is the reason the work inside those four categories is good.
