Repairs and texture matching

Most drywall calls are not about the hole. They are about the patch that is going to sit in the middle of a wall you look at every day. A repair that is structurally fine and visibly obvious is a failed repair, and matching an existing texture is the part that separates a finish carpenter from someone with a bucket of compound.

Knockdown, orange peel, skip trowel and hand textures all behave differently, and a twenty year old ceiling has a texture that has been painted over enough times to change its profile. Interior work runs from a single room refresh through a full house repaint. The preparation is the job. Caulking, filling, sanding and cutting in are what the finish is made of, and they are also the steps that get skipped when a crew is behind schedule.

Garage finishing

Garage finishing includes insulation, and it is one of the highest value square footage upgrades in a house because the space is already there. Exterior paint and deck staining

Exterior work includes pressure washing, because paint applied over chalked, dusty or mildewed siding fails early no matter how good the product is. Deck staining follows the same logic: the cleaning and the drying time decide how the stain looks in year three.

Indiana weather narrows the window for exterior work. Cory schedules around dew point and overnight temperature rather than the calendar, which occasionally means moving a date. That is a better outcome than a coating that never fully cures.
